Joe has only officiated in a few games this year due to work commitments but when asked to help out as a touchy for the RLN Semi’s he gladly accepted the challenge. Joe was given the task of refereeing the 2012 grand final between Hikarangi Stags v Moerewa Tigers, as just reward for his efforts and as a touchy he got to see a replay in the RLN Semi’s.

A big weekend of Rugby League for the Northern Swords Premiers this weekend as the Swords take on the Mid Central Vipers. Coach Jon Renes has compiled a solid team that will push the Vipers all the way. Congratulations to Israel Tahere and Te Tuhi Tipene named as co-captains. This is the 3rd season they will both represent. The team is a great mix of experience and youth with 8 debutants.

To all the brothers that didn’t make the team this weekend, hard luck, that is team sport, your brothers will need you throughout the season, support them to the end, but put pressure on them by being good team men!
