Jennian Homes Northland has continued to build strong ties in the community by joining with Rugby League Northland to sponsor its junior Rugby League competition, adding to Jennian’s already impressive sponsorship portfolio in the Far North.
The locally owned and operated group-home builder prides itself on assisting in the community anyway it can and Managing Director Brett Yakas sees the relationship between Jennian and Rugby League Northland as an important opportunity to help give back to a community that has given he and his family so much.
“It is a great synergic relationship for Jennian Homes Northland as we add to our ‘Building Communities’ philosophy. We are the housing company that gives back and we want to see, and assist, our Northland community grow and we see Rugby League Northland as looking to the future of our region to help make that happen. We are ecstatic to be a part of that.”
Under the direction of General Manager Alex Smits since February 2012, Rugby League Northland (RLN) has made significant strides and has played an important role throughout the Northland community, growing player numbers by a staggering 81% between 2012 and 2013. With a focus on youth participation harnessed through coaching initiatives in schools and the launch of the NorthTec Adam Blair Trophy, player numbers have skyrocketed to a figure of 2420 at the conclusion of the 2013 season.
With a firm blueprint for success set-in-stone, Mr Smits is hopeful for further expansion in the coming years and that Rugby League will be the number one game of choice in the region.
