In 2023, 38 people died in road crashes on Northland roads in and the 2024 toll is rising far too quickly says Northland Road Safety Trust Manager Ashley Johnston.

What sets this event apart is the innovative approach adopted by Rugby League Northland. Players from all participating teams will be sporting vibrant yellow socks throughout the Seatbelt Road Safety Round. This visual representation serves as a powerful symbol of solidarity and support for road safety initiatives, capturing the attention of spectators and players alike.

The significance of these initiatives cannot be overstated. By leveraging its platform and influence, Rugby League Northland is not only fostering a culture of responsibility among its players but also leveraging its reach to positively impact the broader community.

Through the collaborative efforts of Rugby League Northland and road safety advocates, the Seatbelt Road Safety Round promises to be an impactful event. As players take to the field adorned in yellow socks, they serve as ambassadors for a cause greater than the game itself.
