Northern Swords Premiers

Northern Swords to host Auckland at Bluegoose – Saturday 6th September

The Swords have a BYE in the National Competition on September the 6th – but to continue with their build up for they have a game against an Auckland U20’s Team. This game will provide a valuable build up to their match the following week when they travel to Wanganui to plan the Mid Central Vipers (the team the Swords defeated in 2013). The Swords 17s will also be hosting an Auckland U18s team which will be a big challenge for Benson Selwyns troops.

Young Fulop given task of steering the Swords on Debut

Daniel Fulop, who represented Northland at the recent NZRL U18s Kiwis trial is given the task of standoff and the role of steering the Northern Swords Premiers around the paddock, in his debut Premier Match for the Northern Swords, against the Wellington Orcas at the Petone Recreation Ground in Wellington this Saturday.

Northern Swords Season – 2014

The Northern Swords 2014 – 15s and 17s campaign – kicked off on June 22nd when they held their annual RLN – NZRL Performance Camp at Kensington Park. 80 (40 at each age) of Northland’s best 15s and 17s trialed for a place in the 15s and 17s Northern Swords squads.

Senior Swords Squad Named

Northern Swords Coach – Mark Freeman has named his initial training squad for the Northern Swords Premier Team. The Northern Swords, who play in the NZRL Pirtek National Premiership, kick off their campaign on August the 24th against the Wellington Orcas in Wellington.

Announcing RLN Multikai Cooker Premiership

As the Northland Senior League season is just around the corner, Rugby League Northland has received a major boost with the securing of MulitKai Cookers as a naming rights sponsor for the RLN Premiership. From this point forward the RLN Premiership will be known as the RLN Multikai Cooker Premiership.

On Friday 29th November, Solomone Palu was the proud recipient of the Sport Northland Code Award. The event was well attended with Iain (Kamo) Jones and Chris McAsey as key note speakers.

Northern Swords Awards – Coach, Manager, Trainer

Rugby League Northland are pleased to announce Julia Pitman as Swords Manager of the Year, Benson Selwyn as Swords Coach of the Year and Willy Dickson as Swords Trainer of the Year.
