RLN welcome Bob Willougby and James Nair as new  members of the Zone Board.  Both Bob and James are Northlanders through and through.  It is also with regret that RLN announces the resignation of Sharon Bird from the Board.  Sharon was an inaugarual member of Rugby League Northland from 2010.  Sharon  has resigned to focus on working with her lifetime club the Portland Panthers.

James Nair brings financial accountability and governance skills to the Board.  He is currently a self-employed Chartered Accountant.  James has an interest in youth development and is currently a Trustee with the He Puna Marama Trust who are involved with the Maori Leadership academy that feeds into local Whangarei Secondary Schools.  James previously worked in Rugby League as part of the management committee in the earlier Bartercard Cup days with Northland.

Bob Willougby brings with him a wealth of Northland networks combined with business development skills.  Bob spent a number of years as a senior executive working in the CocaCola group. Bob has a passion for his local community working as a Project Manager for Te Rawhiti Community driving the acquisition of work contracts for bio-diversity restoration, ecology and cultural tourism in the Bay of Islands with particular regard to working with key tourist operators, government and community groups.  Bob is also: Member of the Northland Conservation Board, Member of the Tai Tokerau Public Health Organisation,  A Trustee of the Ki A Ora Ngati Wai Health Trust. Bob has always had a passion for Rugby League – playing and coaching throughout the grades in Auckland.
