Rugby League Northland and Normans Buses have confirmed a partnership that will see Normans Buses become the Major Sponsors of the Northern Swords Premier Rugby League team in the NZRL National Premiership competition. Normans Bus and Coach is a family-owned business spanning four generations, originating in Hikurangi in 1927.  In 2009 Pete Norman, who had been doing his time in the business working as a panel beater met and married Nikki and Normans Motors Limited was bought and passed onto the 4th generation Norman.  Normans Bus and Coach as it stands now was born, moving to purpose built premises in 18 Springs Flat Road, Kamo.

Pete Norman is committed to giving back to a community that has served his family business over the last four generations, “I’m a passionate Rugby Coach, coaching the Champion Kamo U14s, however I’ve been taking notice of Rugby League Northland and the work they do in the community and want to help support them.  The Swords Premiers have done it tough over their time in the competition, hopefully with our support they’ll be able to become a competitive team and help talented young players realise their dream.”  Pete said.

“We welcome Pete and Normans on board with RLN, they are a traditional business with family based values which fits in with RLN’s values.  As part of our strategic plan we have identified the need to develop our Swords teams to ensure we help as many players with their future as possible.”  Alex Smits, RLN General Manager said.

Normans Bus and Coach have a fleet of vehicles ranging from 21 to 53 seats. Their coaches are modern and reliable and fully air-conditioned. There are i-Pod docks and DVD facilities with flat screen TV. They can cater to all your travel requirements. Not only do they take your children to and from school and on sports trips with their buses, they can create trips or tours to meet your itinerary and budget. They also do coach trips to concerts, shows, special events like weddings and reunions or even wine tours!

Northern Swords Premier Coach, Jon Renes and his management staff – Edward Irving – Manager and Jack Walker – Assistant Coach are busy preparing their squad for the start of the NZRL National Premiership at the end of August.  They will be kicking off their campaign with a warm up game in at the Koroneihana in Ngaruawahia.
