Northern Swords 14s – Squad Selection

The Coach and Management team, are pleased to announce the Squad Selection for Swords 14s who will be participating in the upcoming RuLA tournament in Tauranga between 8-10th October 2015. A huge thank you to all the boys that trialled. The Coach and Management have stated that those players who have not made the final squad, are on still on standby should injuries arise. Any enquiries regarding this team should be directed to the Coach, Jim Croft or Manager, Michael Hetaraka. RLN would like to congratulate all boys and wish the team every success for the tournament.

Jennian Homes Juniors – Grand Finals

Last Friday saw the culmination of a tough fought season to find out who our grand final champions were going to be. We were very fortunate to secure such a good venue in the Mangakahia Sports complex to host everybody.

Jennian Homes Junior League Finals – 14s, 16s and18s

As we reach finals time in the Senior Competition we also reach the climax for the 14s, 16s and 18s Competitions. Originally the youth football finals were all scheduled at Toll Stadium, however usage at Toll in the Months of August and September sees a massive demand on the fields resulting in Toll limiting games at any event to 2 games. Therefore RLN have organised a Friday Night Under Lights Finals event at Mangakahia Sport Ground on Friday 7th August. For the 14s and 16s Grades, Semi Finals will be held this Friday starting at 5.00pm.

Jennian Homes Juniors Semi-Finals 14s Draw – FRIDAY 31st JULY – SEMI-FINALS DRAW – 14s. Both games to be played at Mangakahia (not Bluegoose and not on Sunday). Grand Finals will be back at Mangakahia next Friday 7th August.

13s Show League is alive and Kicking in the Junior Ranks

The 13s had their show piece event at Toll Stadium on Sunday. It was testament to the quality of the surface at Toll Stadium that it could handle three games in one day even after the amount rain that Northland has received over the last couple of days.

RLN Grand Finals – 13s – Toll Stadium – Sunday 31st August

This should be a cracker of a game, both teams did it very hard last year as younger blokes in the 13s 2013 competition, losing many of games by heavy defeats, but as the old saying goes “What doesn’t break you can only make you stronger”. Which seems to be the case, as the Panthers and the Knights have been the form teams throughout a long season in the 13s grade. This game would be very hard to pick as it will come down to whichever team wants it on the day and plays best.

Plate and Champions Finals played at Toll Stadium this Sunday 31st August. Manaia View v Horahora Broncos kick off at 12:00pm. Followed by Otangarei Knights v Portland Panthers at 1:15pm. Adults $5, u15 Gold Coin Koha. GATES OPEN AT 11:45am. Alcohol will not be served during these games.
